Two in One Deal
CodeSmith 2011 Presentation on MVC - AND - Den Delimarsky on MVVM

CodeSmith and MVC
Room 1

Cloud computing is great, but what do we put in the cloud? The web is advancing at an incredible pace and it’s time to start building true Web Applications, not just web sites! Web Apps shake off the constraints of operating system specific frameworks, and free developers to work in open standards based environment. This session will cover a variety of topics ranging from ASP.NET MVC development, unit testing, REST APIs, JSON, JQuery, ExtJS, tips and tricks, lessons learned, and more. It will conclude with building a sample blog reader Web App, and then deploying that to Windows Azure.

Speaker: Tom DuPont
Tom DuPont lives in Dallas, Texas, where he is the Vice President of CodeSmith Tools, LLC. But don't let the title fool you, Tom is a total code monkey! He specializes in .NET development with C#, ASP.NET MVC, and even that crazy JavaScript stuff. Tom has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas. In his spare time he enjoys long rides across the country on his motorcycle.

Den Delimarsky with MVVM
Room 2

During the talk I would like to focus on several points; What is MVVM, Why and when using MVVM makes sense in the context of WP7, and Introduction to MVVM Light.

Speaker: Den Delimarsky
Den is a Computer Science student at Independence Community College in Independence, KS. Den is also a Microsoft Student Insider – Den works a lot with the Windows Phone 7 platform, blogging and answering questions on StackOverflow. Den is also the administrator of the Dream.In.Code software and web development community. Den writes for DZone, in the .NET and Mobile Zones, where he has more than 200 published articles. For more details you can take a look at his StackOverflow Careers resume.
